Brenda Navarrete


Research Associate, Global Center for Women and Justice

Dr. Brenda Navarrete is a research associate and faculty member at the Global Center for Women and Justice at Vanguard University, where she focuses on advancing efforts to combat human trafficking, end violence, and promote human rights. Her work centers on creating equal opportunities for marginalized communities by addressing disparities in education, healthcare, and social services. With extensive experience in program development and leadership, Dr. Navarrete previously served as the program director for a long-term residential and resource center that provided critical support to women impacted by human trafficking and exploitation. In addition to developing aftercare programs, she has conducted anti-human trafficking training and research on both local and international levels, with initiatives spanning Honduras, Rwanda, and Spain. Dr. Navarrete has also held leadership roles, including serving as the president of the Inland Empire chapter of the California Psychological Association, and has taught graduate-level psychology at several universities across Southern California. Her commitment to justice, advocacy, and education continues to drive her work in advancing human rights and empowering vulnerable populations globally.
