Safe Communities; Safe Kids
Safe Communities; Safe Kids is an innovative program that brings together trained Vanguard University college students, called Peer-Educators, and dedicated teachers to provide essential education on human trafficking, online safety, and healthy relationships.
About the Program
This program equips students with vital knowledge and skills for the future. Using the research-based PROTECT prevention education curriculum, the program is structured into three lessons: two are led by a team of skilled Peer-Educators, and one teacher-facilitated lesson encourages students to take action and make a difference.
The Safe Communities; Safe Kids program aligns with the California Healthy Youth Act (CHYA). It also aligns with Assembly Bill 1227 (AB 1227), which addresses human trafficking in California schools.
